Dear Mr. Rhatican,
I want to thank you for your article "A Letter to Women" and its grandiose instructional value. Much of what you said (and I am sure many other women on campus agree with me on this point) was a display of how your perception of Westhampton College women is a significant overgeneralization.
While I can attest that yes, especially at the famed lodge, there are women who dress in let's say, risque attire, on the whole WC women dress not only appropriately, but rather fashionably and sophisticated. Further, your clear frustration with the matter shows your lack in ability to converse with these said women and gain insight into their lives.
I can think of a surplus of women at Richmond who I am confident would meet your standards of a "real" and "presentable" woman. Would these women want to meet someone who is so naive as to address us in such general and disrespectful terms? I think that can be left for you to infer.
Further, from your article, I have gathered that not only are women dressing to low standards and lacking self-confidence, but they also "make men into animals and ask why they cannot tame their appetite." I was not aware that women actually controlled the thoughts and actions of men.
On the contrary, women are not responsible for the acts of men. This responsibility is something you must learn to possess yourself. We are all entitled to our opinion, Mr. Rhatican, but surely you did not think the respected women of Westhampton College would have nothing to say about your serious misconceptions?
