Friends often tell me that the regular college basketball season doesn't matter, and that it's all about the tournament.To them I ask, are you kidding? What if Duke hadn't lost to Florida State in the regular season?

Baseball winning streak ends, team still positive

The University of Richmond baseball team's 11-game winning streak ended last week after losing to the George Mason Patriots. Although the Patriots were able to walk off of Pitt Field victorious, that didn't change the mindset of the Spiders heading into this weekend's series against Princeton. "We went into the Princeton series with a ton of confidence coming off the winning streak," redshirt junior Adam McConnell said.

Spiders looked for depth in open tryout

The Richmond Spider football team held an open tryout the week before spring break in an effort to fill out its roster with non-scholarship players. "The NCAA mandates our number of scholarship athletes," head coach Danny Rocco said.

Richmond's 11-game win streak snapped by George Mason

The University of Richmond baseball team gave up eight runs in the final two innings to lose, 12-10, to George Mason University on Tuesday, ending its 11-game winning streak. Pitcher Andrew Blum was able to overcome a shaky start to give the Spiders five strong innings.
