The University of Richmond defeated rival Virginia Commonwealth University in the 2023 Capital Cup with a score of 7-6.
In the final game of the series, UR emerged victorious as this time around, the bats worked for the Spiders and the team was able to prevent the series sweep.
After three straight wins in their series against Siena College, the baseball team was unable to keep their winning streak alive against Towson, losing by six runs at Pitt Field.
The University of Richmond baseball team’s record fell to 10-11 after a loss against the Towson University Tigers this Wednesday.

The University of Richmond men’s golf team took home third place in Hilton Head, SC as the team competed against 17 other schools at the Wexford Intercollegiate.
UR won two out of their three games this weekend, including both games on Sunday’s double-header.

The Spiders were quick to break the deadlock, jumping to a 2-0 lead within the opening three minutes thanks to goals from sophomore attacker Max Merklinger and first-year attacker Aidan O’Neil.
The University of Richmond women’s basketball team defeated Saint Bonaventure University 87-45 in their final regular season game on Feb. 25.
