What does it mean when justification looks and feels exactly the same as provocation?
I believe that the purpose of moral philosophy is to create prescriptions for proper action, which ultimately tell you how to be a good person.
So it happened. Tara Reade filed a criminal complaint against Joe Biden claiming that he sexually assaulted her.
COVID-19 is not a U.S. problem. It’s a human problem.
The longer I have been at UR, the more it feels as if information is available on a need-to-know basis.
I do not understand why many international students only got an extension for their on-campus stay, while other students got approved to stay on campus.
We need a leader who will not only defeat Trump, but defeat his movement as well. That leader is Vice President Joe Biden.
We believe that UR will not have the campus environment we envision until the creation of one University of Richmond Student Government Association.
In a world where college students can easily find answers to their questions, we have somehow lost that control. And yes, that is scary.
Imagine what it’s like to spend a semester eating in Spain, the land of jamón ibérico, as a lifelong vegetarian.
So, I guess we should all just suck it up, accept defeat and “vote blue no matter who” in 2020, right? Nah…not so fast.
Although I understand that serious measures need to be taken to slow down the outbreak and flatten the curve, I urge UR to consider the following:
I do not blame UR for taking this threat seriously. However, some of UR's actions have made some students more anxious about the coming crisis.
I want to assure you that even while our campus may be in a “modified operating status,” The Collegian is not.
On Monday, I tried to switch from Westhampton College to Richmond College. My request to re-affiliate was denied.
I propose three steps that we as faculty members and academic leaders in A&S can take, in the short-run and longer term, to support our students.
The media has done more damage to their reputation than its collective hubris would allow them to admit.
If UR were to acknowledge the positive aspects of Greek life, it could actually create a system that works for everyone.
