In the past several years, the rate of college students studying abroad has increased dramatically. Not only do schools encourage spending a semester in a foreign country more these days, but students also seem to be encouraging each other. According to the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers, 283,332 students studied abroad during the 2011-12 school year. Since then, the number has risen.

Tuesday night, the women's basketball team outlasted the Fordham University Rams in a double overtime thriller, winning 78-77 on a game-winning shot by freshman guard Janelle Hubbard. The Spiders rebounded after dropping their first game against Fordham back in January. Hubbard and senior guard Kristina King combined for a total of 58 points.

Saturday, 4,200 fans watched the inaugural game for University of Richmond's men's lacrosse team at Robins Stadium. The fans also nearly watched a huge upset, but the No. 8 University of Virginia Cavaliers came back in the second half and pulled out a 13-12 win.

A man identified on Wednesday as Eric Lannon is said to have a history of theft and swindling, according to campus police. He has reportedly slept in at least four University of Richmond student apartments or houses and has received money, food, alcohol and clothing from numerous students.
