University of Richmond football coach accepted the head coaching job at University of Delaware on Tuesday morning nearly two weeks after voicing concern about Richmond administrators' vision for the football program to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Richmond football players didn't wait long to react, taking to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the Richmond athletic department's handling of the situation.

Update: ESPN 950 is reporting that the Spiders will pursue Chattanooga head coach and former Richmond assistant Russ Huesman as Danny Rocco's replacement. Huesman served as Richmond's defensive coordinator during the 2008 championship season.

University of Richmond's football team has traveled about 8,000 miles over the past two weeks. The players spent this week studying for and completing final exams. Their coach, Danny Rocco, has been vocal about potentially leaving Richmond after this season.

Virginia Health Department officials issued a letter to the University of Richmond Student Health Center and the Weinstein Center for Recreation and Wellness on Nov. 15 as part of an ongoing investigation of increased cases of skin and soft tissue infections (SSTI) and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) among students at the university.

Depleted by injury and down by 17 points, in the same state of North Dakota where last season ended, the Richmond Spiders' season looked to be over. Quarterback Kevin Johnson seemed to have thrown away a redshirt season for just one playoff win, and coach Danny Rocco looked to be hours away from the beginning of his review of coaching offers from other schools.
