In a true economist fashion, University of Richmond President Kevin Hallock said UR's comparative advantages were what would make it the best small university at his inaugural ceremony on April 8. Hallock, a labor market economist, delivered his speech in the E. Claiborne Robins Stadium to hundreds of community members who came to celebrate UR’s 11th president.
To kick-off the University of Richmond’s weekend-long presidential inauguration, President Kevin F. Hallock led a discussion about UR’s commitment and successes in faculty-mentored research on April 7.
University of Richmond President Kevin Hallock has spent the academic year meeting his new constituents. He spoke at the grand opening of the Student Center for Equity and Inclusion. He attended the march in support of survivors of sexual assault. He watched the men’s basketball team win the Atlantic 10 championship. As spring 2022 comes to an end, UR will celebrate Hallock’s official inauguration this weekend.

The University of Richmond announced today that the Board of Trustees has voted to change the names of six campus buildings honoring enslavers and eugenicists. This decision comes more than a year after protests calling for the renaming of then Freeman Hall and Ryland Hall.
The Naming Principles Commission submitted its final recommendations on March 25 outlining a process for community members to request the removal of a name from campus buildings, programs or other entities.
