When news hit of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami that recently devastated Japan's northeastern coast, the University of Richmond's Office of International Education took action.
It's the fourth quarter for my fellow Collegian seniors and me. Kevin Anderson's debut in the Robins Center four years ago was impressive for a freshman as he scored four points, had four assists and four rebounds. But compared to his finale in the Robins Center Saturday afternoon, it was nothing special.

Spider baseball opened its out-of-conference schedule against Duke University on Feb. 18, finishing the weekend with two losses and a win. Team members said they would use the next few weeks to prepare for the conference series, which would begin on April 1.
University of Richmond freshman Nick Poulos struck out with the bases loaded to end the 10th inning and force Richmond's game against state-rival Virginia Military Institute to end in a 6-6 tie Tuesday evening at Pitt Field.
University of Richmond freshman pitcher Andrew Blum needed to throw a strike after falling behind the lead-off hitter during the top of the ninth in a tied game. Blum did just that but unfortunately for Richmond, it was too good of a pitch as Bucknell University's Colby Vanderbeck drove the pitch for a home run that gave Bucknell a 4-3 victory Sunday afternoon at Pitt Field.
The University of Richmond dropped the second of its three-game series, 5-3, against Bucknell University on Saturday evening after being held scoreless through the final five innings.
Sophomore Jake Mayers didn't want to leave the game.
All the makings of a dramatic victory were there for the University of Richmond. Freshman Mike Small was at the plate with two outs in the bottom of the 10th with a runner on first and Richmond trailing by one. But it was not meant for Small to be the hero.
The University of Richmond baseball team will begin its season this Friday at Duke University, and head coach Mark McQueen said the team had a good chance of getting back to the Atlantic-10 Conference tournament for the first time in three years.

The University of Richmond opened the doors of the new addition to the Robins School of Business, Queally Hall, this semester, advancing the school for business students and faculty alike.
Larceny
Before departing for Terre Haute, Ind., to compete in its first NCAA Cross Country Championships, the men's cross country team set a goal of finishing among the top 25 teams in the nation. Led by senior Matt Llano, the team was able to accomplish its goal.
The University of Richmond's men's cross country team was ranked 28th in the nation on Tuesday by the Pre-NCAA Championship Division I Coaches' Poll for the first time in team history.
