On March 19, the University of Richmond temporarily suspended all operations of the Zeta Omicron chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma pending the outcome of an investigation regarding reports of violations of UR's Healthy Web Community Compact and the Standards of Student Conduct, associate director of Greek life Meg Pevarski wrote in an email to The Collegian on March 25.
This summer, many University of Richmond students became part of a nationwide movement to abolish Greek life on college campuses. Dozens of members of Interfraternity Council fraternities and Panhellenic Council sororities disaffiliated from their organizations following the rise of an Abolish Richmond Greek Life movement, which began in the beginning of July with the inception of an Instagram account of the same name.

The University of Richmond suspended Theta Chi’s Omicron chapter Wednesday because of a hazing investigation, associate director of Greek life Meg Pevarski wrote in an email to The Collegian on Thursday. This is the second time this year that Theta Chi has been suspended.
The Princeton Review ranked the University of Richmond 10th in colleges with little race and class interaction in 2021, moving from last year's spot as fourth on the list.
