Happy Monday Spiders! Congrats! We are entering the final stretch of the semester. In between preparing for final exams and wrapping up those big projects, make some time for movie screenings, book launches, and theatre performances! 

The Wild Robot outdoor movie night

If you’re looking for some time outside and a good movie, head over to the Westhampton Green on Thursday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. for an outdoor screening of the Oscar-nominated animated film The Wild Robot! This event is free, and will include Insomnia Cookies! Grab a blanket and relax under the stars. You can learn more and register for the screening here

Popular Music Ensemble concert

The students in the Music Performance Laboratory will be hosting a free concert celebrating iconic women in music on Tuesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. The performance is in the Perkinson Recital Hall, and will feature original compositions and famous covers! Check it out here!

Mobile rage room with SpiderBoard

If you need to blow off some steam before finals, swing by The Forum for a mobile rage room! That’s right- the SpiderBoard is hosting this stress-reliever on Thursday, April 17, from 12 to 4 p.m. If you want to (safely) smash your stress away, register here

Cooking Basics: Meal prep breakfasts

The Demonstration Kitchen is hosting its final Cooking Basics classes of the semester on Wednesday, April 16 at 6 p.m. and Friday, April 18 at noon. These classes are all about meal prepping grab-and-go breakfasts! It’s a great way to prepare to say good-bye to Dhall breakfasts and hello to home-cooked morning meals. Click here to register. 

Book Launch with author Tina Hallock & illustrator Kaitlin

Celebrate Spider spirit with Tina Hallock’s new book Along Came the Spider. This book, illustrated by Kaitlin Jones Stasiunas, captures what makes UR’s campus special, and is designed for literacy at all ages. Whether you’re shopping for a young reader or collecting UR memorabilia, don’t miss your chance to meet the duo and snag a signed copy. Don’t let the bizarre name fool you- this musical satire is socially relevant and brilliantly funny. The UR theater department will have three performances of their musical Urinetown this week and its the final Theatre and Dance production of the year.
