A Richmond man linked to death threats posted on social media and whose presence on campus sparked a campus safety advisory, was arrested by Henrico County police late this morning, according to University of Richmond Chief of Police Dave McCoy.

According to McCoy, the arrest did not happen near campus.
The UR police department collaborated with the Henrico County police to apprehend Antonio Scales Jr., 27.
“I want to thank Chief English and the Henrico Police Department in their efforts to apprehend Mr. Scales,” McCoy said.
McCoy added that Scales is not allowed on university property and prohibited from attending university events in person or virtually.
On March 19, Scales attended a One Million Cups event at the Robin’s School of Business, and a campus warning was issued shortly after. Entrepreneurship Professor Dale Fickett said that the March 26 One Million Cups event was held virtually due to concerns that Scales would attend.
Scales continued to post concerning content on his Instagram this morning — shortly before his arrest —including conspiracy theories, far-right content, and pornography.
He also posted a photo of him at Panera where another user commented, “they lookin for you mane, best stop posting dat locale”.
Scales replied, “I can fight & I got a Glock. Also, my president is Trump, so If I shoot you, it's self defense. I’m coming straight home. Ready to kill at any moment.”
This is a developing story.
