Welcome back to campus! We hope you rested up during Thanksgiving break and are ready for the final weeks of the semester. With finals upon us, it’s important to take a break and enjoy the Christmas season in Richmond. There are several free music events this week to take a look at.
University of Richmond Chamber Music Ensembles Concert
Monday 7:30 p.m.
Come to Camp Concert hall for an evening of numerous student performances. The program features works by artists such as Saint-Saëns, Glière, Fauré, and Debussy. This event is free for everyone, but tickets are required.
The Bizarre Bazaar 49th Christmas Collection
Tuesday- Sunday 10:00-7:00 p.m.
Haven’t bought Christmas gifts or just need a little retail therapy? Shop over 475 artisan stands from all over the country at the Richmond Raceway Complex. You can buy gourmet food, jewelry, clothing, fine art, and more. Admission is $11 for adults. Save money and purchase tickets in advance.
Wreath Workshop
Tuesday through Saturday 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Learn how to assemble an evergreen wreath and enjoy refreshments in the historical Maymont Garden Hall. Guests must be over the age of 21 and are required to bring their own clippers and gloves. Tickets are $60.
University Symphony Orchestra
Wednesday 7:30 p.m.

Spend your Wednesday evening being serenaded by UR’s largest music ensemble. A variety of pieces will be played, including J.S. Bach's Concerto for Two Violins. This event is free for everyone, but tickets are required.
Science of Emotion Poster Show
Thursday 10:30 a.m.
Acknowledge the work of students taking the Psychology Department's Science of Emotion (PSYC 325). Stop by the THC to learn more about how music, introversion, workaholic tendencies, and exercise are related to psychological well-being through their research projects.
Crafts and Cocoa
Thursday 3:00- 5:00 p.m.
Take a study break with the Department of Religious Studies in Weinstein Hall, 102. Take advantage of a hot chocolate bar, snacks, and seasonal crafts. This event is open to everyone so stop by and relieve some stress.
The Sirens’ Annual Holiday Concert
Thursday 7:30 p.m.
Get in the holiday spirit with the Sirens, Off the Cuff, the Octaves, and Choeur Du Roi as they sing to celebrate the end of classes. These student singing groups have prepared an array of performances. This event does not require registration.
