Get your costumes ready, Spiders! There’s plenty to do this week with Halloween coming up. Take a break from class and explore the campus and the city of Richmond. 

Hip Hop Week

Monday to Wednesday

Performances, classes, karaoke, and more are available for all students this week. There’s something for you whether you want to break a sweat or sit and learn. Find more information on the various dates and times here

Slay! A Queer Halloween Extravaganza

Thursday 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Haven’t made plans for Halloween? Join the LGBTQ+ Coalition in the Multicultural Space for a night of entertainment and good food. Make sure to prepare your best costume for the costume contest. 

Dia De Los Muertos Celebration

Friday 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Dia De Los Muertos is a holiday largely celebrated in Mexico on Nov. 1 and 2. Families typically gather on the holiday to honor loved ones who have died. Come to the Multicultural Space to join in on the celebrations.

Test your fears with roller coasters and haunted houses this month. Kings Dominion is featuring “Halloween Haunts” through Nov. 3. Tickets are on sale now. 

Maymont Garden Glow

Oct. 16 to Nov. 10 

The annual Maymont Garden Glow will be returning! The historic site will be lit up with a stunning display of lights. This must-see event is perfect for a night out with friends and is always popular with University of Richmond students. Find more information here
