Springtime bliss is in full bloom! Enjoy the flourishing beauty of spring with a bouquet of exciting events happening this week, both on and off campus.

Spring Wreath Making

Wednesday 6:30 p.m.

Celebrate spring at Hardywood West Creek with a wreath-making event! Enjoy some refreshments and food from local food trucks while creating your own gorgeous wreath. Hardywood will provide all the materials, including eucalyptus, spring greens, preserved flowers, faux flowers and more, and offer demonstrations to guide you in crafting your masterpiece. Tickets are $55 at the door for this hour-long class.

A Conversation on AI and the Future of Work

Wednesday 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Curious about artificial intelligence's impact on society? Come to the Brown-Alley Room of Weinstein Hall for a talk with Anton Korinek, an economics professor from the University of Virginia and an esteemed expert in AI. This insightful discussion will delve into the transformative effects of generative AI on our society and economy and how to prepare for a future with the presence of this technology.

The Bizarre Bazaar 32nd Spring Market

Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Stop by the 32nd Spring Market at the Richmond Raceway Complex! Browse over 275 exhibitors showcasing a wide range of items from spring gifts to fine arts, jewelry, gourmet foods and more. Enjoy a smoother shopping experience by joining the early bird session on April 12 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., which includes complimentary coffee. General admission is $8, while early bird shopping is $13, but save $1 by purchasing tickets online here.

Natu Camara

Come to Camp Concert Hall to enjoy a performance featuring singer Natu Camara. Hailing from West African heritage, Camara’s music is a fusion of rock, soul and singer-songwriter tunes infused with rhythms from Guinea. As a passionate advocate for social justice, Camara's powerful vocals and uplifting lyrics create a unique bond with her audience, inviting them into her personal experiences and global issues. Tickets are $5 for University of Richmond students and can be purchased here.

Gallery Talk with Ceramic Artists

Saturday 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. 

Stop by the Modlin Center for the Arts for a captivating gallery talk presented by ceramic artists Megan Angolia, Rice Evans and Marcia Haffmans, who are featured in the exhibition "Rendered Fusion: Clay, Connection, Attention." Following the talk, indulge in coffee and snacks while mingling with fellow art enthusiasts. This event is free and open to the public.
