Spiders, we've reached the home stretch before spring break—congratulations on making it this far! Before you dive into your well-deserved break, here are some fantastic events to enjoy with your friends.

Richmond Piano Trio

Monday 7:30 p.m.

Experience a complimentary concert in the Perkinson Recital Hall showcasing the talents of Richmond Symphony's concertmaster Daisuke Yamamoto, principal cellist Neal Cary and University of Richmond faculty pianist Joanne Kong. Delight in Beethoven's "Ghost" Trio Op. 70 #1, as well as Debussy's Trio and Grieg's Andante con moto. Admission is free, and registration is not required. 

Masculinity in a Changing World featuring Alice Evans

Tuesday 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Attend an enlightening presentation by Alice Evans, a senior lecturer at the King’s College London and author of the forthcoming book "The Great Gender Divergence," in the Queally Center for Admissions. Her talk, titled "Ten Thousand Years of Patriarchy," will explore the influence of hormones on gender identity and behavior, dynamics of status competition and violence, evolving challenges for men amidst shifts in family structures and the economy, nuances of Black masculinity in the United States, and the historical and prospective trajectory of patriarchy worldwide.

Militant Women: Hybridization of Normative Femininity in Public Discourse During Russia's War Against Ukraine.

Wednesday 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

Come to a thought-provoking talk by Oksana Kis, the Cornerstones Distinguished Visiting Chair in history at UR and head of the Department of Social Anthropology at the Institute of Ethnology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The event will take place in the Brown-Alley Room in Weinstein Hall. After the talk, light snacks and refreshments will be served.

Lego Night

Wednesday 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

SOUL Aerial Alice in Wonderland 

Thursday 11 a.m., Friday 8 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m., and 7 p.m. 

The SOUL Aerial & Performing Arts Center presents a captivating, family-friendly, full-scale aerial cirque adaptation of "Alice In Wonderland" at the Dominion Energy Center. This spectacular aerial cirque production immerses the audience in Alice's fantastical voyage through Wonderland and her deepest dreams, only to awaken to reality. Featuring a cast of over 70 aerialists, acrobats and dancers, ranging from 48 to just five years old, the SOUL Aerial production promises an unforgettable experience suitable for all ages. Tickets are $29 and can be purchased here.
