With the end of the semester approaching, take advantage of these events while you still can. Check out what this week has to offer.
Headshots and Career Talk
Tuesday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Head to the Multicultural Space in Whitehurst for a free professional headshot to make your LinkedIn profile stand out. Campus photographer Kim Lee will take headshots first-come-first-served. Solid clothing, simple make-up and minimal jewelry are recommended. Elizabeth Soady, assistant director of Career Services, will also be available for questions about internships, resumes and interview preparation as a part of Career Services drop-in hours.
Thanksgiving dinner
Tuesday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Heilman Dining Center will be serving a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday. Some menu items include roasted turkey, candied yams, herb stuffing, baked apple tart and much more. Check out the full menu here.
Pause for Paws
Friday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Long week? The therapy dogs of Caring Canines will be making an appearance Friday afternoon. Head to the back lawn of the Robins School of Business for the “Pause for Paws” event where students will be able to hang out with different therapy dogs. The first 50 students will receive a goodie bag. Hot chocolate and coffee will be available.
Holly Jolly Market at Lakeside Farmers Market
Friday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Get a jump start on holiday shopping and go to the Holly Jolly Market at Lakeside Farmer's market at 6110 Lakeside Avenue. This market will feature over 40 vendors of local artisans and makers as well as food trucks and festive music. This event is organized by TransJam Events, which is a trans-operated event planning organization that hosts inclusive events.
Richmond Marathon
Saturday
The 45th Allianz Partners Richmond Marathon will be on Saturday with a route that features the James River views, historic downtown architecture and a downhill finish. There will also be a CoStar Post Race Party on the riverfront. The Richmond Marathon calls itself “America’s Friendliest Marathon” with party zones, bands, spirit groups and much more. They offer registration opportunities for a full marathon, a half marathon and an 8k. For more information, visit their website.
