This morning, the hymn of the birds has returned

The shortened days without them had been a bore

Although turmoil had arisen, the village was unconcerned

Pacing within the walls, I am certain to make sure

That those who threatened the birds would face

The spirit who distributed burdens face-to-face

The chirps arose and were silenced at 10 past five

Chirp after chirp, bullets rang out, tallying our fear

Those who doubted, hunted or lied would hence not stay alive

Lock up those killers, remove them from our sphere

Unforeseen circumstances set our vigilantes on their toes
