Women’s Soccer
Oct. 24: Loss 0-4 at Saint Louis University
The University of Richmond women’s soccer team fell to 6-9-2 after being shut out by Saint Louis. The Spiders allowed two goals in the opening five minutes and were not able to stage a comeback. Saint Louis remained undefeated in Atlantic 10 play and extended its winning streak against UR to six games.
Oct. 27: Win 3-0 vs. Saint Joseph’s University
Redshirt junior forward Alyssa Walker led the Spiders to an A-10 win with her first career hat trick. The team finished the season 7-9-2, a significant improvement compared with last season’s 2-15-1 record. Redshirt first-year goalkeeper Claire Hinkle had five saves and senior forward Brooke Beam had an assist.
Women’s Tennis
Oct. 25-27: ITA Atlantic Regionals, Blacksburg, Virginia
All five UR players who competed in singles went 1-1 at the ITA Atlantic Regional, which was hosted by Virginia Tech. The tournament was UR’s last event of the fall season. The team will resume play in January.
Field Hockey
Oct. 25: Win 2-1 vs. Saint Francis University
The Spiders overcame an early deficit and defeated Saint Francis with goals from sophomore defender Steffie Bongers and first-year forward Evie Hanson. Despite UR attempting 31 shots to Saint Francis’ five, the game stayed close to the end. The win moved the Spiders to 5-2 in A-10 play.
Oct. 27: Loss 0-3 at Duke University

The Spiders lost against No. 4 Duke in non-conference play despite five shots by Bongers. Junior goalkeeper Frankie-Lynne Conklin had five saves in the losing effort. The Spiders aim to improve their standing in the last A-10 game of the season on Friday at Davidson University.
Men’s Golf
Oct. 26-27: Steelwood Collegiate, Loxley, Alabama
UR finished 10th in a 13-team field with a score of 892 (+28) at the Steelwood Collegiate, its final tournament of the fall season. Sophomore Michael Childress tied for 16th individually after shooting 218 (+2) and senior Andrew Sciarretta finished in a tie for 29th with a score of 221 (+5).
Football
Oct. 26: Win 35-25 at University of Delaware
The Spiders defeated No. 19 Delaware on the road for their third consecutive conference win. Redshirt first-year running back Aaron Dykes returned two kickoffs for touchdowns in the first half, which tied the FCS record. His 226 total kickoff return yards broke a UR program record. Redshirt junior quarterback Joe Mancuso led the way on offense both passing and rushing, scoring three total touchdowns and picking up 375 total yards. Wide receiver Keyston Fuller, a graduate school transfer, had 161 receiving yards on eight catches. Mancuso connected with Fuller for a 63-yard touchdown, which ended up being the last score of the game. Redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Kobie Turner added 1.5 sacks for the Spider defense. The team now looks to win another conference matchup against Stony Brook University on Saturday for homecoming weekend.
