The biannual Richmond Restaurant Week is happening from Oct. 19-25, and there are definitely some restaurants that you will want to visit.
Not only does restaurant week offer a chance for people to try new places and dishes, but it also benefits the Central Virginia Food Bank and Meals on Wheels.
All of the 40 participating restaurants have set dinner menus for $29.15 and most of them even include three courses.
Eating great food while supporting even better causes is awesome, and here are my top three restaurant picks that you should try during Richmond Restaurant Week.
1) 23rd & Main
With two separate sides to the restaurant, the kitchen and the taproom, 23rd & Main has something to please everyone. They always have a fire going in their brick oven and make more than 12 different types of wood-fired pizza. Check out this restaurant for great comfort food in a cozy atmosphere.
2) Casa Del Barco
As a restaurant with redefined Mexican food that uses fresh and local ingredients, Casa Del Barco creates unique dishes that you cannot miss. It is also located along the Historic Canal Walk on the James River, which provides a great setting.
3) Deco Ristorante
Voted “Best Italian In Richmond” by Style Weekly in 2015, Deco uses a contemporary take on traditional Sicilian cuisine. The modern building and décor incorporates the executive chef’s architecture background, and he also uses this to create appealing dishes. Be sure to try their recipes that are taken from years of experience and tradition.
