President Barack Obama will be at the Robins Center Friday morning, the school announced in an email Wednesday.
Obama is expected to arrive at the Robins Center around 11:35 a.m. to talk about job creation. Tickets are required for the event.
The general public can obtain tickets at the Modlin Center starting at 3 p.m. Thursday and will remain available until 6 p.m. that day. University of Richmond students and faculty need to go the Events-Conferences Office in the Physical Plant Building between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. for tickets.
University of Richmond president Edward Ayers encouraged those with tickets to get to the event early Friday.
"Attendees will be required to arrive early to allow time to pass through security screening and be seated before the event begins," Ayers said in an email sent to students and faculty. "Doors will open at 8:30 a.m."
Obama was last in Richmond one year ago to talk about the economy and job creation.
This is not the first time that a president has visited the Robins Center. In 1992, a presidential debate between then-President George H. W. Bush and Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton was held at the Robins Center.
