Meet the Spider rookies

The following 17 men are the newest members of the University of Richmond football team. Each quote is from head coach Latrell Scott.

Cormac Craigie

QB Fr. 6-2, 200

Piedmont, Calif.

Piedmont/Trinity-Pawling (N.Y.)

"Cormac is an athletic quarterback and another West coast guy to go along with Aaron Corp. He was part of a very high scoring offense in California then transferred to the East coast and continued to have great success. He adds depth to our quarterback situation."

Austin Gund

OL Fr. 6-3, 290

Washington, D.C.

Gonzaga College High

"Austin is a very versatile player. He can play every position on the line. We had him in camp this summer and he did a great job. He has the potential to be one of the cornerstone players for our offensive line in the future."

OL Fr. 6-4, 270

Raleigh, N.C.

Millbrook High School

"Caleb is another big, physical lineman who was at camp this summer. He had a great showing at camp and is having an impressive senior season. He is also having an undefeated wrestling season, which says a lot about his toughness. We are looking forward for him to get on campus."

Trevor Jones

ATH Fr. 5-11, 185

Charles City, Va.

Charles City

"Trevor is a versatile athlete who comes from a very small school. We also had him in camp, where he did a lot of great things. He is also an excellent basketball player and is leading his team through playoffs right now. He played multiple positions in high school so we won't have a problem finding a place from him on the field."

Justin Grant

ATH Fr. 6-1, 190

Franklin, Va.

Franklin

"Justin actually played in the same high school district as Trevor Jones and had the opportunity to compete against him. He is a very versatile player who played receiver, defensive back, returned kicks and punts in high school. He had 13 interceptions and returned seven of them for touchdowns. He very well could be one of the best athletes we have."

Justin Williamson

DE Fr. 6-4, 225

Hampton, Va.

Phoebus

"Justin is a very tough young man who came to two camps this summer. He really wanted to come to Richmond. Justin never lost a high school game and that's the type of winning quality we are looking for. He won 47 straight high school games."

Sedale Young

OL Fr. 6-4, 290

Roanoke, Va.

William Fleming

"Sedale is a very big, athletic offensive linemen who was also at camp. He decided very early he wanted to come here. "

Nick Ritcher

OL Fr. 6-6, 270

Raleigh, N.C.

Ravenscroft

"Nick comes from a family of football players. Nick is the fifth person to play college football in his family. His grandpa and dad were All-Americans and his dad played several years in the NFL and he has two brothers who play college football. He is a very talented young man."

Keevon Newsome

DL Fr. 6-2, 235

Portsmouth, Va.

Churchland/Hargrave Military

"Keevon also comes from a family of football players. His brother is a quarterback at Penn State. He is a player we had ties to at UVA. He attended prep school last year and we were able to get him to Richmond. He adds immediate depth to our line."

Irabor Imobisa

OL Fr. 6-3, 300

Chesterfield, Va.

Meadowbrook

"Irabor is a local kid from about 10 minutes away. We had him on campus at a camp this summer as well. He is an athletic offensive lineman who has the ability to play multiple positions. He is another part of that brand new offensive line."

Seth Fisher

FB/LB Fr. 6-1, 220

Salem, Va.

Salem

"Seth played linebacker and running back in high school. He unfortunately hurt his knee during his senior season, but he is on track to recover fully. He is very versatile and could play fullback or linebacker."

Adam Farley

DL Fr. 6-2, 315

Charlotte, N.C.

Charlotte Catholic

"Adam is the biggest of the linemen. He is big, agile and overly athletic for being his size. He will have an immediate impact on the team."

Dominique Miller

ATH Fr. 5-10, 160

Woodbridge, Va.

C.D. Hylton

"Dominique is a versatile athlete who played quarterback, running back, receiver and defensive back in high school and will play corner for us. We expect big things from him. He is a play maker."

Terrence Fullum

DL Fr. 6-2, 265

Bethesda, Md.

Landon School

"Terrence is a dominant defensive linemen. He chose Richmond over Penn, which speaks to his academic credentials. He loves football and reminds us a lot of Martin Parker. He has the same haircut and all. It's just not red."

Mylon Blueford

CB Fr. 5-10, 170

Chesapeake, Va.

Oscar Smith

"Mylon is a very smart young man who graduated from high school in December and enrolled with us this semester. He is off to a great start. Mylon is big-time talent. He should see playing time for us this season."

Cooper Taylor

S r-Jr. 6-5, 200

Atlanta, Ga.

Marist School/Georgia Tech

"Coop's Boy Wonder. He is a safety that brings instant credibility to our defense. He has played in big-time games and has made big-time plays. He will probably be our starting free safety."

Aaron Roane

LB Fr. 6-2, 200

West Point, Va.

West Point

"Aaron was our very first commit in this class. He committed back in the spring last year. He will probably play linebacker for us, but he ran for 5,000 yards as a running back in high school. He should help us right away as linebacker."
