Sat., Feb. 6, 12:00 p.m.

Because of the weather, the University of Richmond will be closed Saturday, Feb. 6, communications announced.

All classes have been cancelled and all campus events have been cancelled except for:

--The Richmond-Temple men's basketball game, which will be played at 2 p.m. at the Robins Center. The game will also be televised on ESPN-U.

--The Westhampton College Ring Dance, which will be held as scheduled at The Jefferson Hotel. Special bus shuttle service between the campus and the hotel has been arranged, communications announced.

--Boatwright Library, which will be open on its normal Saturday schedule.

--All student programming in the Tyler Haynes Commons.

Additionally, Heilman Dining Center will open Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-7 p.m. But other dining locations and the University Book Store will be closed.

Richmond plans to operate on a normal schedule Sunday, communications announced. But most public events Sunday have already been canceled. The university events calendar has been updated with all cancellations.

Fri., Feb. 5, 2:00 p.m.

Because of the bleak weather, the University of Richmond will close at 3 p.m. on Friday.

Two to six inches of snow, mixed with some rain or sleet, could accumulate in Richmond, according to the National Weather Service. The outskirts, such as Short Pump and Ashland, could get more snow. Forecasts in western and northern Virginia have called for more than a foot of snow Friday.
