The University of Richmond's women's golf team is competing this fall under the direction of a new coach.

Jill Briles-Hinton, a former Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour player who most recently served as the University of Florida's head coach for 11 seasons, has taken over the team after the departure of former head coach Leighann Albaugh this summer.

During Briles-Hinton's time at Florida, the Gators made 10-straight NCAA Regional appearances, qualifying every year except Briles-Hinton's first. The team also qualified for the NCAA Championship six times, and had five top-10 finishes during Briles-Hinton's last eight years.

Briles-Hinton has already led the team to a 17th-place finish at the Duramed Cougar Classic, hosted by the College of Charleston and most recently, to a 6th-place finish in the Princeton Invitational on Sept. 19 and 20.

The team will compete this weekend in the Penn State Invitational at Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pa. After that, the team will compete in two more tournaments this season -- The Spider Fall Invitational and the College of Charleston Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate. The Spider Fall Invitational will be held in Midlothian, Va., on Oct. 12 and 13 and the College of Charleston Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate will be played in Kiawah Island, S.C., on Oct. 26 and 27.
