Richmond alumnus runs Boston Marathon, unharmed by explosions

Former Richmond track and cross country runner Jeff Watson, ’03, ran the Boston Marathon, finished and was back in his hotel room when the explosions occurred.

No reported injured Spiders from marathon explosions

Many with Richmond connections were at Monday’s Boston Marathon, where two explosions went off near the finish line. No UR connections have been reported hurt.

Richmond cross country teams sweep Atlantic 10 titles

The men’s cross country team secured its first Atlantic 10 conference championship and the women’s cross country team secured its third title during the conference championship yesterday in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Men’s cross country juniors Andrew Benford, left, and Matt Llano lead runners during the 8-kilometer race at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational on Friday. Benford and Llano were the first two Richmond runners to finish the race; Benford finished 18th overall and Llano finished 22nd overall. The men’s team finished 11th out of all teams.
