Richmond alumnus runs Boston Marathon, unharmed by explosions

Former Richmond track and cross country runner Jeff Watson, ’03, ran the Boston Marathon, finished and was back in his hotel room when the explosions occurred.

Cross Country finishes 24th in NCAA Championships

The men’s cross country team ended its season with a 24th place finish, while senior Amy Van Alstine, competing for the women’s team, finished 67th.

Men’s cross country juniors Andrew Benford, left, and Matt Llano lead runners during the 8-kilometer race at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational on Friday. Benford and Llano were the first two Richmond runners to finish the race; Benford finished 18th overall and Llano finished 22nd overall. The men’s team finished 11th out of all teams.
