Women’s basketball exceeds pre-season expectations

With its season coming to a close recently, Richmond women’s basketball recounted its surprising success that began with low expectations.

Spiders advance in the WNIT with 22-point win vs. Miami

After a 12-day layoff, Richmond picked up a 76-54 victory Thursday afternoon over Miami (OH) to advance to the second round of the WNIT.

Spiders take down Duquesne, 59-45, in final home game

In its final home game of the season, Richmond defeated A-10 foe Duquesne, 59-45. UR sophomore Becca Wann led the Spiders with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Richmond bounces back, takes down Fordham, 63-50

On Senior Day, Abby Oliver, Richmond’s only senior, led all scorers with 23 points to help the Spiders get their 21st win of the season, 63-50, over Fordham.

Richmond downs St. Joe’s, 78-59, on national television

The Spiders came up with a big-time win over a conference opponent Saturday afternoon, beating Saint Joseph’s, 78-59, in a nationally televised game.

Richmond women’s basketball coasts past Rhode Island, 68-49

Senior guard Abby Oliver led the Spiders with 23 points, as Richmond cruised past the Rams, 68-49, to pick up its 17th win of the season.

Spiders come out on top, 74-70, against Explorers

Richmond women’s basketball earned its 15th win of the season, defeating A-10 foe La Salle, 74-70, Saturday at the Robins Center.

Renovations made to basketball facilities

Renovations on both the men’s and women’s basketball teams locker rooms and coaches offices have begun and should be done by late February.

Spider of the Week: Rachael Bilney

Richmond women’s basketball guard Rachael Bilney scored a career-high 32 points and set a school record with eight three-pointers made in one game.
