2005 University of Richmond alumnus Adnan Hajizada has been arrested, detained and apparently beaten in Azerbaijan after he and a fellow activist posted video critical of the nation’s government, according to e-mails and media reports.

University officials announced today that the Rev. Linda Morgan-Clement, chaplain and director of interfaith campus ministry at The College of Wooster in Ohio, is the second finalist for the university’s permanent chaplain position. The second candidate, the Rev. Craig Kocher, is scheduled to speak today in front of community members.

London’s contract extended through 2014 season
The University of Richmond athletic department has granted football coach Mike London a contract extension through the 2014 season, an agreement athletics director Jim Miller said recognized London’s success with athletes on the field and in the classroom.
