Richmond fans celebrate Spider victory in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — For the first time in the school’s 178-year history, the Spiders won a national championship. And they did it front of hundreds of Richmond students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members who traveled from afar to cheer on their team.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Spiders’ 24-7 win against the University of Montana on Friday made it No. 1 again, garnering the school’s first NCAA national championship in school history.
