Dry James River prompts mandatory water restrictions

The City of Richmond and Henrico County have announced mandatory water restrictions as a result of a dry summer and low water levels in the James River. Meanwhile, the university is meeting the restrictions and has developed a new water conservation policy.

Obama and V.P. contender Kaine campaign in Richmond

Obama campaigned in Chester today as part of his two-day tour of Virginia along with Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, a person widely considered to be on Obama’s short list for vice presidential running mates.
